Little Smart Planet is a mobile educational game platform that can be accessed on computers, tablets or smart phones, whose function goes beyond providing educational tools, but also allows for parents and teachers to monitor a child’s progress in the subjects of mathematics, Spanish and English languages.

KITE Invest: Please give a brief history of the origins of Little Smart Planet? Why did you decided to create this product?

Little Smart Planet: I’m coming from the content industry. Thus, I have some experience in creating contents for big audiences. The education sector is living a revolution. The introduction of new technologies and the arrival of Tablets and smartphones are changing the way education is perceived in a general sense. I applied my knowledge on subscription base models to the education industry and mixed it with new education technologies and I arrived to Little Smart Planet

KITE: What makes Little Smart Planet different from its competitors? What would you say are its top 3 distinctions / selling points?

LSP: The first is that Little Smart Planet brings order to the chaos. In the marketplaces (App Store, Google play) you could find thousands of math, grammar and English games, but as a family you really do not know what is the best option. We provide a solution for families with children ages 5 to12 that are based in videogames. For kids we talk about games; for parents, we talk about a platform to supervise the work in progress of their children playing the games. Second, children enjoy with Little Smart Planet. They like the games and they do not perceive it as homework, but just fun. The thirds is Spanish language. We have created a platform based in Spanish. The games follow the Spanish and Latin American curriculum criteria. There is no other platform for the Spanish language like Little Smart Planet and therefore, our market is that of 550 million, including the Latin American community in the USA.

KITE: Does Little Smart Planet serve to be an educational tool that is given alongside children’s studies? Is it for home and the classroom?

LSP: The initial idea is to use Little Smart Planet at school (practicing games for instance 15 minutes per week) and as well at home to reinforce the materials children are learning at school. This is the reason why our main target are parents/families that will subscribe Little Smart Planet in order to have the same teaching aide used at home and in the classroom.

KITE: Does Little Smart Planet intend to penetrate other markets beyond Spain and Latin America? If so, how would the game have to adapt in terms of culture and market?

LSP: We are focused on Spain as the reference market. There are other similar platforms like Little Smart Planet in the USA and the UK, but there are not any similar to it in Spain or Latin America. We are going to launch the service first in Spain and immediately afterwards in Latin America, starting with Mexico.

KITE: The age range for the educational games is from 5 to 12. Are there plans to adapt the games to older children as well?

No, we intend to decrease the target age, with games for preliminary school ages of 3 to 5. Children 13 years and older already have their games and it´s really difficult to compete with that market, especially with educational games.

KITE: Is the company currently looking for funding? If so, please describe the ideal relationship with the investor(s).

LSP: Yes, we are in a round, looking for €200.000. The kind of investor we are looking for in not a financial one, but a strong and strategic support that helps us to grow in Latin America and the USA.

KITE: What makes Little Smart Planet a good and wise investment, what can it offer investors?

LSP: The company is in a mature moment. We have already invested more than €160.000 in order to create the first 18 games and the platform. We have been working on Little Smart Planet for the last 12 months and now we are ready to face the market, and are launching is in September. In terms of commercial agreements, we have several big deals already closed. For instance, we have agreements with two telecommunication companies in Spain. We also have an agreement with one of the main school publishing houses in Spain that our games will be disbursed to 100% of the schools in Spain. Lastly, we have had significant conversations with the main Telco in Mexico in order to launch our services there.
